Zeitgeschichte und mehr
In einem umfangreichen Filmnachlass eines hohen SS-Führers, den wir vor wenigen Tagen für unser Archiv erwerben konnten, fanden wir auch bislang unbekannte, ca. 12 Minuten lange Filmaufnahmen aus dem jüdischen Ghetto im besetzten Warschau.
Im Zuge unserer Zusammenarbeit mit Yad Vashem stellen wir diese Aufnahmen den Historikern der Gedenkstätte zur Verfügung, um die Bilder in ihren exakten historischen Kontext zu stellen.

Vor einiger Zeit veröffentlichten wir auf unserer Seite einen Aufruf zur Unterstützung des United States Holocaust Memorial Museums in Washington, mit dem wir in Fragen historischer Filme partnerschaftlich zusammenarbeiten. Heute erreichte uns dazu folgendes Schreiben:

As we look ahead to our 25th anniversary in April 2018, we face a world that the Museum’s founders could not have imagined—with antisemitism, Holocaust denial, and hatred on the rise. Yet, thanks to your continued generosity, we are well positioned to meet these challenges.

Unser Dank gilt einem engagierten Filmamateur, der über Jahrzehnte politisch und kulturell bedeutsame Ereignisse in Berlin auf Film festgehalten hat. Seine umfangreiche Filmsammlung wurde uns übergeben und erweitert unseren Archivbestand zur Geschichte Berlins um mehr als 20 Stunden.
